The Third Edition of Cogne Academy Kicks Off in October
New this year: eligibility extended to holders of any five-year high school diploma

In October 2024, the third edition of Cogne Academy will begin — an initiative designed to train young talents ready to enter the steel industry.
Following the success of the previous editions in 2020 and 2022, Cogne Acciai Speciali, in collaboration with the agency Umana S.p.A., will select 15 recent high school graduates in September for a training program held entirely on-site at the company.
The course, completely free of charge, will start in October and conclude in December 2024. It offers a unique opportunity for young people aged 18 to 29 who want to pursue a career as a Steel Operator in the steel industry.
A new feature of this year’s edition is the widened eligibility: the course is open to holders of any five-year high school diploma.
The program consists of 250 hours of intensive training, delivered directly at the Cogne Acciai Speciali headquarters by experienced operators and technicians. This will allow participants to gain an authentic immersive experience in the workplace, learning from professionals active in the sector for many years.
At the end of the course, candidates who successfully complete the program will receive concrete job offers from the company.
Those interested in participating in Cogne Academy can submit their applications via email at infoiv@umana.it.
Ilaria Fadda, Human Resources and Academy Director at Cogne Acciai Speciali, comments:“Cogne Academy represents the training hub our company has structured for its People: men and women who are trained, motivated, able to work as a team, face technological challenges, and acquire knowledge, skills, and competencies. The experiences in 2020 and 2022 have shown how this type of program effectively guides entry into the workforce, as demonstrated by the near absence of turnover among participants in the previous editions.”
Monica Pirovano, General Director of Cogne Acciai Speciali, adds:“With this initiative, we aim to revive what was historically the ‘Cogne School,’ the company’s first training institution that over the years ‘educated’ thousands of young people from the Aosta Valley, who found a starting point for entering the workforce through the ‘factory school.’ This year, we have decided to open the opportunity to all recent graduates, not only those from technical or vocational schools, to challenge themselves within our company. At Cogne Acciai Speciali, some started on shift work in the production department and are now managing one of our branches in the United States. In our company, commitment is rewarded, and to young people I send the message to seize this opportunity, because here it is possible to grow and build a career through determination.”
