Cogne Acciai Speciali: 94% of the energy used comes from renewable sources and 93% of employees have permanent contracts. Proud to be at the forefront of the Italian steel industry

On the occasion of World Environment Day, June 5, 2025, Cogne Acciai Speciali takes a significant step forward on its path toward a more responsible and transparent industrial model: the release of its first Group Sustainability Report.
This document is not just a collection of data, but a tangible testament to the shared commitment of all the Group’s companies to building a sustainable future.
“We chose to publish this first consolidated report to give full visibility to the work we carry out with passion, day after day,” said Massimiliano Burelli, CEO of Cogne Acciai Speciali. “For us, sustainability is not a reporting obligation — it is an integral part of our corporate strategy. It’s how we create long-term value for all our stakeholders.”
Burelli emphasizes how the 2024 Report provides a concrete picture of the progress achieved: “By the end of the year, over 94% of the electricity used by the Group came from certified renewable sources — a milestone that reflects our commitment to fighting climate change. In 2025, we will continue along this path, driven by a belief we share with all our people: the Power of Together. Only together can we build a truly sustainable future.”
The report also highlights strong social performance: as of December 31, 2024, over 93% of the Group’s employees had permanent contracts — a clear indication of the company’s commitment to job stability and its people-centered development model.
From a governance standpoint as well, the Group has made significant progress, progressively integrating the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals into its corporate strategy and formally committing to the United Nations Global Compact, thereby reinforcing its dedication to ethical and sustainable business practices.
“This report is an act of responsibility and transparency toward our customers, suppliers, local communities, and institutions,” added Monica Pirovano, General Director of Cogne Acciai Speciali. “Sharing results means strengthening trust, giving coherence to our values, and reinforcing a forward-looking business vision.”
In a global context marked by deep transformation, Cogne Acciai Speciali confirms its role as a conscious and proactive industrial player, positioning itself at the forefront of the steel sector through innovation, a strong sense of responsibility, and a deep commitment to sustainability.
