Expansion to the north: Cogne expands its range of products and services to northern Germany by taking over EMB GmbH
On May 2, Cogne Edelstahl GmbH of Neuss concluded the acquisition of Edelstahl- und Metallhandel Bremen GmbH (EMB GmbH) of Stuhr, near Bremen, which specializes in the distribution of stainless steel products.
The transaction enables Cogne Edelstahl to develop its presence and activities in northern Germany through its own sales and storage facilities. In addition to shorter delivery times, customers in this area will benefit from a wider range of products and services available locally, benefiting from the extensive production and delivery possibilities that Cogne Group offers.
"Both companies have been in the stainless steel business for over 20 years and complement each other perfectly when it comes to customer service. We are known for the quality of our products, which adds up to offering an equally reliable delivery time," is how Bernd Grotenburg - CEO of Cogne Edelstahl GmbH - explains the reasons for this acquisition. "We are absolutely convinced that the integration of EMB into Cogne will enable us to offer customers located in northern Germany decisive advantages to secure their future competitiveness. The Stuhr location complements the sales offices in Düsseldorf/Neuss and Rudersberg, extending Cogne's presence in north Germany. This means that delivery times for customers located here will be significantly improved, thanks in part to the availability of our vehicle fleet." Grotenburg continues.
Both companies count with experienced employees who have been with their company for many years, contributing with their extensive know-how in the stainless steel industry. The current sales representatives of EMB and Cogne Edelstahl will continue complementing the team and serving the companies' customers.
