Atomised powders

COGNEPOWDER takes its origins in the pilot unit that was installed in 1988 within the Aosta plant, by the CSM (Material Development Centre) of the National group FINSIDER. In the early 90’s, the research and development activities were progressively changed into an effective production of metal alloyed powders for final applications, such as hardfacing and welding. On January 1994, after the Aosta mill was sold to a private Group, the wear resistant alloyed powders were added to COGNE Acciai Speciali’s products range. In 1997, powder production and sales were transferred to the new company called Cogne Powder S.r.l. that changed its name into COGNE TECHNOLOGIES S.r.l. in year 2000. In 2006 COGNE TECHNOLOGIES S.r.l. has been trasnferred again to COGNE ACCIAI SPECIALI. Recently, besides traditional hard-facing and welding powder production, COGNE ACCIAI SPECIALI started developing a new powder typology, such as fine powders for MIM (Metal Injection Moulding) applications. The current high flexibility of the powder plant helps to comply specific grain distribution and chemical analysis requirements.
COGNE, in its capacity as a producer of atomised powders, has transfered to Neue Technologie Systemlösungen GmbH Systemlösungen GmbH, Osterode (Germany) the sales monopoly for all powdered products included within the scope of this program for the entire Federal Republic of Germany.
